 note = {論文(Article), There are clear sex differences in the onset and complications associated with diabetes mellitus (DM). Views regarding gender are generally considered important in nursing. In this study, we analyzed viewpoints regarding nursing, using the culinary activities of middle-aged women with Type 2 DM as a person who lives the daily life. An interpersonal process perspective and the assumption that the aim of nursing is to support patients in their quest for meaning and living with the illness formed the study's basis. Thus, it was assumed that nursing typically focuses on the developmental shift resulting from middleaged women's identity reconstruction following the changes and loss that they experience; these women also experience role conflicts due to life changes and menopause-related health problems. Specifically, women equate performing homemaking activities with fulfilling their gender roles in the household. Since middle-aged women with Type 2 DM are undergoing life changes, their focus on culinary activities means that nursing should aim towards ensuring their psychological well-being, as DM patients.
