| 内容記述 | Abstract： The aim of this study was to examine the consciousness of teachers regarding sex education in schools for special needs education, and to investigate the actual implementation of sex education in these schools. A questionnaire was distributed to 188 teachers in schools for special needs education, and 85 responses were analyzed. Teachers had experienced students “touching their own genitals” and “hugging friends and teachers”, and viewed these behaviors as problematic. Teachers of elementary and junior high school age students thought that “appearance”, “communication” and “daily life rules” were necessary elements of sex education, while teachers of senior high school students considered “communication”, “sexual abuse” and “dating” to be necessary. The teachers’ practice of sex education as a subject and guidance in everyday life reflected these same issues. 82 teachers thought that it was necessary to study methods of implementing sex education for students with intellectual disabilities, but only 21 of the teachers reported holding study meetings at their schools. 57 of the teachers replied that they “struggled” with sex education, reporting that they“ do not know how to teach” and“ there are no opportunities to study the issue”. It is necessary to examine concrete educational content and methods that can be used to help students in schools for special needs education to acquire basic life skills, and to deepen their understanding of their own sexuality and of others.
